Conference Theme
In the materialistic and consumerist world of ours, those who work in modern knowledge-based subject fields of economics, politics, geography, management, law, agriculture, medicine, science, technology, etc., have now begun to discuss human values relevant to their fields. This could be seen from hundreds of books written in recent past by both the academics and the professionals linking either their fields to Buddhism or Buddhism to their fields. Hence, the conference theme: Human Values in Buddhist Perspective, expects to give Buddhist Studies scholars in particular an opportunity not only to examine and assess human values brought forward by these academics and professionals from a Buddhist perspective but also to bring to light the relevant Buddhist teachings on human values as found in the Buddhist texts.
