Wisdom
What is Wisdom? Wisdom is to know and see the true nature of all things. Wisdom is to understand and realise the necessary conditions that require to be fulfilled for the attainment of the objectives. Wisdom is to understand conditionality. Wisdom is understand the arising and ceasing nature of all things. It requires penetrative insight to acquire wisdom and such insight and knowledge only dawns to a mind that is stable in concentration. At the heart of that process is right mindfulness. Human beings have a certain level of mindfulness. However, that ordinary level of mindfulness is not a factor that leads to wisdom. Mindfulness will have to be developed to become a power and to make it a factor for the arising of knowledge and the acquisition of wisdom. And that requires a firm resolve, an untiring and an unwavering effort. Now, it is very necessary that you bear in mind that wisdom does not dawn to a mind that is constantly engaged in The pleasures of the senses. Wisdom does not dawn to a mind that is plagued by enmity, illwill, anger, jealousy, resentment and fear. Wisdom does not dawn to a mind that is shrunken and lethargic or to a mind that is in sloth and torpor. Wisdom does not dawn to a mind that is diffused restless, agitated, or in worry. Where there is doubt there is no wisdom. Wisdom dawns only to a mind that is well established in mindfulness, that is calm, tranquil, well collected and stable in concentration. It is only to such a mind that wisdom dawns. |
